“Azubis an Schulen” (apprentices at schools) project – Trützschler Foundation becomes partner of Rockid. One!

With the initiative “Azubis an Schulen” (apprentices at schools), the non-profit association Rockid. One! is establishing an additional concept to support and relieve teachers at (elementary) schools in the areas of media competence, digitalization and sustainability. The Trützschler Foundation supports the pilot project in Mönchengladbach.

Once a week, apprentices from companies in Mönchengladbach assist teachers at (primary) schools with so-called “media lessons”. During these lessons, they teach the children basic digital skills in a playful way, including how to use search engines and word processing programs. The Trützschler Foundation supports the procurement of teaching materials, including special app-controlled teaching robots. A similar project has already been implemented in Wermelskirchen, reaching more than 350 schoolchildren and 22 apprentices. The long-term plan is to roll it out nationwide.

More information is available at https://www.rockid.one/pr/ and at www.ihk-krefeld.de.
