Trützschler celebrates award for outstanding trainees

Every year, the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK: “Industrie und Handelskammer” ) honors the best apprentices, apprenticing companies and further education graduates. Trützschler is delighted that Lukas Weirowitz (cover picture), who started his apprenticeship at Trützschler’s headquarters in Mönchengladbach, Germany, in 2018, is one of the winners this year. The 22-year-old received the award as the best graduate in the state North Rhine-Westphalia and the lower Rhine region, based on the final examinations for technical product designers in the summer of 2021. This puts Mr. Weirowitz in the top 2 out of 525 technical product designer examinees in the examination year 2021/2022.

“It’s fantastic to see Lukas rewarded for the great commitment he has shown in the three years of his shortened training,” said his proud mentor, Melanie Grobholz, Trainer Technical Product Designer R&D at Trützschler. “We are looking forward to accompanying him in the practical phase of his upcoming cooperative studies for a Bachelor of Engineering. In this way, we are creating the basis for a successful long-term collaboration.”

The examinee also shared a few words of appreciation for his apprenticing company: “I am very happy about this award and would like to express my sincere thanks to Trützschler for the support during my training, and also for showing trust in me for our future cooperation. I particularly enjoyed this training because it was very varied and well structured. I’m excited about the possibilities in the future.”

Industrial clerks Igor Gunko and Francesca Vogt, as well as cutting machine operator Björn Elsäßer, also have cause to celebrate this year: All three have passed their training with flying colors as the best of the IHK in the lower Rhine region (Kammerbezirksbeste der “IHK Mittlerer Niederrhein”).
